The accuracy of an observer is purity. - What is the important relationship between the resolution and purity of observation and meditation?
It's not about the amount of information, intelligence, or years of experience. The surprisingly important indicator that separates those who can grasp the essence of a phenomenon from those who just skim the surface is "purity." The "purity" of the observer—the resolution of observation is determined by the observer's purity.

The moment motives become mixed, the resolution of observation physically declines.
“What you want to see becomes the filter for your vision.
It's often said that people only see what they want to see. In other words, the moment our motives become involved, the resolution of our observation drops drastically.
For example, when evaluating a person. If motives like wanting to gain something from them, wanting to be recognized by them, or wanting to look down on them are mixed in, the information you see becomes drastically distorted. The good aspects are magnified, and the inconvenient aspects disappear from view. Filters accumulate according to the number of motives, and the raw phenomenon becomes clouded accordingly.
People with high observational purity can “receive phenomena as they are.”
It is not the amount of knowledge, but the purity of motivation that determines how the essence is perceived.
A state of high observational purity is one where the motivation for the act of observing is not tainted by the gaze of others or one's own calculations. The more these motivations—wanting to win, to feel secure, to be evaluated—are absent, the more the phenomenon enters one's grasp as it is.
So, no matter how intelligent you are, if your motivation is impure, you won't see the essence. Conversely, even with little knowledge, if its purity is high, the essence will manifest before you. The ceiling of observational resolution is not determined by intellectual ability, but by the purity of motivation—this is the cold, hard structure of observation.
The moment purity is regained as an observer, that which rises.
The archetype of a phenomenon that appears only after being filtered.
To regain purity is to strip away motives and expectations from yourself as an observer. Peeling away the ego's noise, one by one—desires to win, to be recognized, to feel secure. Then, the same phenomena will begin to emerge with a different resolution.
Meditation and alone time are valued for this reason. Only through them can clouded motives settle and purity as an observer be regained. The higher the purity, the greater the resolution of observation.
Closing your eyes during meditation is largely to prevent excess information from entering your field of vision, thus allowing you to become a better observer.
For those who find meditation difficult, why not start by simply closing your eyes and quietly observing the flow of your thoughts?

The difference between people who make money and those who don't isn't a difference in ability. It's not a difference in the amount of effort either. "You can't make money if you don't have money" - this...
