The day I was determined to revolutionize meditation. The starting point: Lambda Meditation.
The second term of meditation has successfully ended! You're probably wondering what that strange triangle is, but it's just a Greek letter, like alpha or beta, and it's read as "lambda."
If you studied physics in high school, you might remember that wavelength is denoted by λ, and this is its uppercase version.
I'll skip the long explanation of why I named it Murakushi's Original Meditation, but with the counter-intuitive idea of giving already difficult meditation content even more obscure names, I ended up setting an excessive barrier for participants. Still, I'm very happy that so many of you overcame that barrier to participate.
The number one question I always get from the audience at various talks and events is about meditation, and it's undeniable that many people are truly interested in meditation.
Many people give up on meditation because they think they have to achieve a state of "nothingness," but they can't concentrate due to distracting thoughts while sitting, or they easily get sleepy and fall asleep. I want people to understand the prerequisites of meditation in the first place.
When people tell me to practice mindfulness, calm my mind, or just close my eyes and sit without thinking, I'm like, "I don't have that kind of free time!" Everyone's life is busy with work, friends, family, games, social media, and YouTube.
The meaningful time where such busy people gathered and listened to the new concept of meditation has ended. As for how you will integrate the structure and philosophy of this meditation into your lives going forward, the ball is now in your court, and I look forward to seeing what you do.
It's not just about becoming blank or calming your mind, but about maximizing your potential, using your life to the fullest, and escaping mediocre thinking. Can you live a creative, unrestricted life? While everyone's interests and goals are likely varied, I believe you've definitely taken several steps closer to that.
Will meditation lead to a richer mind? If one's mind becomes richer, will they become richer financially? Is there a correlation between richness of mind and richness as a human being? I would like to explore these kinds of questions, which seem to have no definitive answers, together with all of you going forward.
I want everyone to experience Sungaku Meditation, whether you're someone who meditates daily, someone who has trained in meditation and is now teaching it, or someone who is interested in meditation but has hardly tried it. Of course, we're still accepting participants, and it's not too late to join, so we're waiting for you!
