Giving shape to world peace - PEACE! Monument Project: What it will drop on the world
- "World peace" - a phrase everyone agrees with, but no one takes seriously.
- Peace has no form, which is why people don't act. They can't act.
- People can't continue believing in things they can't see.
- Money has form. Love and friendship have a touch. World peace – what does it have?
- To place a peace monument on land that still holds the memory of conflict
- Every time I see it, "peace" is etched in the corner of my mind.
- Not to "pray for" world peace, but to "establish" it.
- Create a world where PEACE is found on street corners.
"World peace" - a phrase everyone agrees with, but no one takes seriously.
Peace has no form, so people don't act.I can't move.
There is no word more universally agreed upon and less seriously considered than "world peace."
Peace is important. War is wrong. Conflict is bad.
Everyone "thinks" so. They think it, but do nothing.
Because peace has no form.
People can't continue believing in things they can't see.
Money has form. Love and friendship have a touch. World peace – what does it have?
It's difficult for people to keep believing in things they can't see.
Money, business, and relationships are all basically visible. Things like love, friendship, and dreams aren't immediately visible, but they have a tangible presence in our daily lives.
Peace has no such form. It's abstract, vague, and somehow feels impersonal.
That's because peace is called a state without form. I think peace is when the concept of peace disappears from people's minds. The state of being called "peace-addled" by some Japanese is one kind of answer.
To place a peace monument on land that still holds the memory of conflict
Every time I see it, "peace" is etched in the corner of my mind.
The DROP PEACE! Project is an art project that "drops" giant PEACE monuments in various locations around the world as symbols of true peace.
Cambodia. Philippines. Sri Lanka. Congo. Uganda. Gaza.
A land where memories of conflict remain. A land where tension still persists. There, the word "PEACE" physically exists as a monument.
A child passing by sees it. A mother returning from shopping sees it. A soldier sees it. A politician sees it.
Nothing may change. But each time I see it, the concept of "world peace" will be etched into the corner of my mind.
Not to "pray for" world peace, but to "establish" it.
Create a world where PEACE is found on street corners.
Human collective consciousness is influenced by what it repeatedly comes into contact with.
It's the same principle as advertising. By seeing the monument as a symbol of world peace, PEACEMOVEMENT, repeatedly, it becomes ingrained in our subconscious.
Then, we should create an environment where everyone in the world sees "PEACE" many times.
A world where peace is commonplace amidst familiar scenery.
This isn't idealism, it's about design.
Instead of "praying" for peace, let's "install" peace. Physically. All over the world.
