A deficiency called a wish
What lies beneath "narimasu you ni"
When people hear "prayer," many think of "requests."
God, please let it go well. Please let me pass. Please let my illness be cured.
But the essence of prayer is not "wishing."
Wishes always come with "lack" as a condition.
"I hope things go well" implies "things are not going well right now." "I hope you are healthy" implies "you are not healthy right now."
In other words, a wish is an act of confirming a lack. It's an act of becoming aware of what's missing and trying to have it filled by something.
Prayer is entirely different.
Prayer isWaves emanating from existence into the world
Prayer is not something you "do," but a state of "being."
Prayer is not about "wishing" for something, but rather the vibration that existence itself sends out to the world.
If I were to put it into words, it would be this: "A state where my existence, simply by being, is creating something."
It's closer to a structural state than a conscious act. When the purity of existence is heightened to the extreme, the act itself becomes prayer.
Speaking becomes prayer. Walking becomes prayer. Breathing becomes prayer.
To "the self that exists as prayer" rather than "the self that can pray"
When the self becomes transparent, prayer transforms into creation.
"I've finally become someone worthy of prayer."
This shows that prayer is not an ability, but a state of being. One does not become able to pray. One becomes able to *be* prayer.
When the ego is strong, prayer devolves into "wishing." You try to attract what you want for yourself, by your own power, for yourself.
When the self becomes transparent, prayer transforms into "creation." Something flows out into the world through oneself. It cannot be stopped or controlled. It simply happens by existing.
