What is Causality? The Common Sense Idea That the Past Creates the Present

Logically speaking, the present is a result of the past.
Because I put in the effort in the past, I have my current abilities. Because of the choices I made in the past, I am in my current environment. Cause comes first, and the future as a result comes later. That's how cause and effect works.

But is that really the case?

Information Space and Presence: Experiencing Your Future Self in Advance

There is a concept called the "information space."
Whereas physical space is composed of three dimensions plus time, information space has no time constraints.

In the information space, you can make your "future self" exist first.

The brain cannot distinguish between the sense of presence in reality and in information space. The proof is that your heart rate increases when you watch a movie. Images that are accompanied by emotions are processed and registered in the brain as "experiences."

In other words, when you experience your future self with overwhelming vividness, your unconscious mind begins to process it as something that "has already happened." Then, your actions, judgments, choices, and even coincidental attractions are optimized based on that future.

What is presence meditation—a technique to eliminate the distance between the future and the present

This is not magic or spirituality. It is a structural characteristic of brain information processing.

Normally, the brain perceives your future self as "another person." That's why it feels distant. That's why you don't feel it personally. Naturally, your behavior doesn't change.

The core of vividness meditation is to erase the "distance" between your future self and your present self. Rather, it emphasizes getting closer to your future self.

Experience the scenery your future self is seeing, the emotions they are feeling, the scents they are smelling, and the air they are touching, right here in this moment. The higher the resolution of this experience, the more your brain will mistakenly believe it's already happening. It's about tricking your brain in a good way.

Causality Reverses—Why the Future Changes the Present

Past → Present → Future. This unidirectional causal relationship is considered common sense.

However, there is a reverse causality where the present changes because the future becomes fixed.

Make the future exist first and make the present follow the future.

Reversal of causality.
It's not a concept, but a concrete technique that utilizes the workings of the brain.
