Why do fun times fly by in an instant, while boring times seem to last forever? The truth about the ”invisible dimensions” that drive reality
The world up to three dimensions – reality as physics.
One dimension. A line. Forward or backward.
Two-dimensional. Face. Up, down, left, right.
Three dimensions. Space. Depth is added. This is the world where humans physically live.
Most people only call this "reality."
Four dimensions - the extension of time
Fourth dimension. Time.
Linear causal time flows from past to future. Adding this makes the three-dimensional world "move." People live within time. There is yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
But does time really only flow in one direction? Fun times fly by in an instant, while boring times seem to last forever. Perhaps time isn't a fixed container, but a flexible material.
Fifth Dimension: The Space of Information and Meaning
Fifth dimension. Information space.
Language, concepts, ideas, blueprints, principles – things that don't exist in physical space, but undeniably "are." The "meaning" in your head as you read this sentence isn't anywhere in three-dimensional space. But it exists.
The fifth dimension is the first dimension that humans can manipulate beyond the physical. All civilizations are designed in the fifth dimension and implemented in the fourth dimension and below.
The sixth dimension – the undifferentiated realm of the imaginary dimension
Sixth dimension. Imaginary dimension.
If the fifth dimension is the space of "named things," then the sixth dimension is the space of "things not yet named."
Undifferentiated fluctuation. Pre-linguistic intuition. That "inscrutable gut feeling." Something that cannot be explained, yet is certain.
Just as imaginary numbers don't appear on the real number line but certainly exist in the complex plane, imaginary dimensions don't appear in the description of real dimensions, but they are always there as a structural element of existence.
Z = D + iD. All existence has a real dimensional component D and an imaginary dimensional component iD.
If we assume this is the structure of the world, then various things fall into place. And you realize that quite a lot of people live like this. I think many people, without articulating it and while not explicitly conscious of it, don't find this feeling particularly strange.
Are we only calling three-dimensional physical space "reality"? Are we bound by four-dimensional time? Are we stopping at five-dimensional information space?
Ignoring certain dimensions is equivalent to blocking out certain possibilities or abilities from one's thinking as if they don't exist.
The sixth dimension, though unseen, is always open.
I want you to rediscover your hidden, unknown self.
